Free shaping is an approach to training that will engage the animal in a way that she will have to experiment with different behaviors to get rewards. It is a little bit like playing the "hot and cold game" in which we have to try different things to get to the desired behavior.

In this video, Sushi, a 4 month old kitten is having her first training session and she does a great job at figuring out what I want her to do.
