A flat battery in your BMW key fob could make it difficult or even impossible to access your vehicle. If this happens to you, replacing the battery is a quick and simple process.

The BMW remote key fob uses a CR 2450 coin cell battery, available at most hardware stores. It can easily be replaced by popping off the backplate, removing the old battery and inserting the new one in its place.

This process is applicable for all BMW vehicles with a standard remote fob, including F30, F10, F15, F25, E60 and E90.
