I can't imagine any woodworker who wouldn't at some point in their woodworking, want to carve a bowl from a chunk of wood using their hands and a couple of basic tools.

I put this together to show the basic steps and tools I suggest as patterns and methods of working to create a threedimensional shaped object from solid wood.

You can use any wood you have as scraps, including construction lumber. It's a neat couple of hours of work and great to do with the kids too.
