How to build a whip antenna | 1/4 wavelength

Follow
Spectrum DIY

This includes putting together a FM radio kit, and using the antenna we built to test it with. I hope you enjoy.
Text for formulas can be found at the bottom of the description.

I had a lot of fun with this, though granted it was an incomplete kit, a capacitor needed replacing and it worked just fine after that.
The over all build length probably took about an hour or maybe an hour and 10minutes. But I didn't want to bore you all with the entire process.

If you have any suggestions or comments. Overall improvements for the next video, let me know in the comments below, otherwise thank you for checking out this build :)

So if you do buy one of the kits, just be ready to have extra parts on hand.
And as to where I got this particular kit, I'm not sharing links to amazon, but it was one of the kits from there.

The formulas mentioned are here:
Let C = 234
Let F = Frequency in Mhz
So for the station done in this example the formula is as follows:
234/101.700 = antenna length in feet
Then to adjust it from feet to inches would be
234/101.700(12) = length in inches
Then for metric
234/101.700(12)(2.54) = length in cm
234/101.700(12)(25.4) = length in mm
