In this video, I talk about the first 5 steps you need to take to become a voice over talent.

In my last video, How to Start Your Voice Over Career at Home, someone left me a message on the comment section, asking if I can give beginners, like herself, pointers on how to actually get started as a voice over artist. I realize now that I had skipped a number of steps for those who are just starting to look into using their voice as a money maker machine. I apologise for that and I offer this video as peace offering. I want to tell you 5 important things you should know, an overview, if you will, that will help you better understand what it takes to be a voice over talent. I advise that you go through this 5 things first, before you record your demo reel. This is going to be real talk. I have seen so many posts on Youtube encouraging people to go on Fiverr or Voice Bunny for voice over work, saying it requires no skill. I beg to disagree, it does require a certain amount of skill and talent. I don't want you going in there with high expectations, but doing very little to prepare. I want to set you up for success. I am not going to tell you that it's going to be easy, nothing worth it is easy. I will tell you, however, that it is achievable. And that IT IS a rewarding career. So, if you are serious about becoming a voice over, then these 5 things should not be a problem for you. This video is also full of tips that can help you get started in voice acting.

Note to my seasoned voice actor friends, this is essentially for beginners, although i believe these 5 things can also serve as a good refresher for you. I also invite you to share voice acting tips to our friends who are just starting their VO journey.
