In this video I show how to setup a ReceiveOnly APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System) iGate with a Baofeng and an Android device. An APRS iGate (Internet Gateway) is a program that listens for APRS packets on a radio and relays them to the APRSIS network on the internet. APRS iGates are one of two fundamental parts of the APRS network that enable communications beyond simple peertopeer transmissions. The other part is a Digipeater, which is similar to a voice repeater. This is just the Igate.
