It's easy to resurface your asphalt driveway and give it a "just paved" look.
Here's what you'll need to do the job.

• Work gloves work clothes safety glasses and rubber boots
• Leaf blower
• A hose with a sprayer attachment or pressure washer
• A stiff broom
• A small trowel
• Recommended driveway cleaner
• Patching compound
• A roller or squeegee/brush applicator
• A disposable paint brush
• Driveway sealer

Seal your driveway early in the day to allow plenty of drying time.
Start by cleaning the driveway and brushing off all debris. A leaf blower works well for this. Clean out any grass or weeds in cracks.
Next remove any oil spills with a recommended cleaner and scrub with a brush.
Wash the driveway next. You can use a hose and stiff cleaning brush or a pressure washer with a lowpressure tip.
Repair any cracks. Use the trowel and broom to remove loose asphalt. Fill the cracks with the recommended repair compound and let it cure.
It's time to apply the sealer.
A 17litre pail of sealer will cover about 23 to 38 square meters. This driveway will need two and a half 17litre pails.
Old clothes or coveralls and gloves are a good idea as well as rubber boots.
Mix the sealer thoroughly since some of the solids may have sunk to the bottom. A mixing paddle attached to a drill does a great job.
If its a hot day dampen the surface first and remove any puddles.
Start applying the sealer at the garage or highest point on the driveway and work towards the road or low point.

Start by cutting in around sidewalks and drain pipes using the disposable brush.
Work in 1metre sections using a cross pattern to coat the driveway evenly.
Overlap the edges to avoid seams.
The solids in the sealer will fill in minor cracks helping to keep water from seeping in and damaging your driveway.
