How To Adjust Vette Pop-Up Headlights

How to adjust Corvette C3 popup headlights.

Corvette headlamps stop working or work poorly due to several reasons, and one of those is dirty, neglected, and improperly maintained headlamp mechanisms.

Restoring all associated components is not expensive and—if you need to drive your Corvette at night—imperative.

In this video, I show you how I lube and reinstall several components, including:

1. The liners or bushings
2. The actuator pin
3. And two of the actuator springs (there are 4 per headlamp)

I also explain how I adjust the actuator rod clevis to finetune the headlamp door alignment.

Back in 2018, I published a blog article about restoring and rebuilding the actuators, so you may also want to read it as it provides important tips and information. https://bit.ly/36KRCgT

Thank you for watching!

DISCLAIMER: Even though I like to wrench on my Corvette and most of my videos are of a howto nature, I am not responsible nor liable should you decide to follow my musings on the subject.

The repairs and other work I do are for my own benefit and entertainment, and even though my videos may sound and appear to give technical howto advice, that's not my intention.

Working on a vehicle is inherently dangerous. If you're not confident, qualified, or lack the tools to do the job correctly and safely, hire a licensed mechanic.
