When you think of a pension, you think of something that is paid to those with lengthy service. But lowincome veterans can earn a pension after serving just 90 days. There are a few other qualifications to meet as well. In this video, Attorney Eric Olsen of the HELPS Nonprofit Law Firm explains the benefit that many veterans and their surviving spouses may not be aware of, and lists the qualifications for the Veterans Pension & Aid and Attendance. Not only do you not need to have served for a long time, but you don't have to be disabled to collect what could be thousands of dollars per month. Simply being 65 years old and meeting the other qualifications is enough.

Attorney Eric Olsen, Founder of the HELPS Nonprofit Law Firm, works with seniors, disabled persons, and veterans who are struggling with debt. Attorney Olsen lays out how VA Aid and Attendance or Housebound benefits could provide monthly payments in addition to other VA pension payments, and what steps veterans and their surviving spouses can take to see if they're qualified. Finally, the lawyer explains how the HELPS Nonprofit Law Firm could help veterans with their debt struggles.
