In this video let us understand how Nickel Metal Hydride battery works. Nickel Metal Hydride battery is most commonly used in Hybrid Electric Vehicles.

The basic components of Nickel Metal Hydride battery, the anode is made of Hydrogen Storage Alloy. The cathode is made of Nickel Hydroxide. The electrolyte is made of aqueous solution of Potassium Hydroxide.
The separator is made of polyolefin material.

The charging and discharging mechanism are explained along with the cell reaction at cathode and anode.
