A few words on starting a YouTube channel in 2020. There's tons of good material on how to start a YouTube channel out there and this is just part of my experience. I want to clarify that I've been on YouTube for more than 8 months/1 year, but I started uploading consistently (shooting at once a week) less than a year ago.
I do also really highlight the important role that luck plays in all of this! I got lucky, and you might too. Just be patient.
