Michael Musser became homeless in Lancaster after becoming addicted to prescription painkillers for chronic kidney stones and started to make bad choices as a result. He came to Ebenezer’ Baptist Church's food line, where he said he felt welcome and inspired to change his life. He began volunteering at The Potter’s House and eventually started his own ministry, Musser's Street Ministry, along with his wife, Sarah Musser. Their ministry involves handing out food and clothes to the homeless and during the holiday season, Christmas gift bags. Michael says of his past, “God happened… God saved me… it’s a living testimony. It just takes a little work and a lot of prayers and some good people behind you to help you out...” Sarah currently works at Blessings of Hope, giving back to others who need a hand up.
