Us
Over the last 20+ years, we've owned a couple of Airstreams, a 5thwheel & now a Class A motorhome. We've traveled with Great Danes and Dobermans without the luxury of slides! This is the last of a 3 part playlist about Arlington, TX. (Link to Arlington Playlist below) As I've mentioned , Arlington is known as the Entertainment Capital of Texas and branded as The Dream City. It sits perfectly between Fort Worth & Dallas so it's an awesome place to stay. Let's start with *Vegas Before Vegas*!

Top O' Hill Terrace

This was a secret place that had armed guards all around & many famous people visited it back in the day. Watch the video to see a list of famous visitors & performers! Vickie Bryant has spent over 20 years collecting memorabilia, photographs & stories to pull Top O' Hill visitors back in time to the days of illegal moonshine, gambling, brothels and murder at a place later called Vegas Before Vegas. In the early 1920's, Beulah Marshall bought a beautiful property located off the transcontinental Bankhead Highway, which connected Washington, D.C., and San Diego, California. This property is now off Division Street in Arlington, TX. There she opened a dining establishment that became very popular as a destination for afternoon teas & dinners because of its spectacular view & its location on the transcontinental Bankhead Highway. Six years later, a man named Fred Browning began purchasing portions of the property. Adding escape tunnels & secret rooms for hiding the gambling paraphernalia, guards at the front gate who triggered an alarm to the gamblers, the property became home to a secret casino.

During a raid the casino would be converted very quickly into a dining room as the gamblers escaped through hidden tunnels into the brushy hillside or the elegant Tea Garden where they could pretend they had been enjoying their tea and sandwiches. Rumor has it that the tunnels were also used to carry out the bodies of those who were shot during brawling gambling escapades.

El Gabacho's Restaurant
El Gabacho means white cowboy & if you go to this restaurant you'll understand why it's called that! The owner, David, loves John Wayne and he has memorabilia, drawing, plates, mugs, photographs and more all over the restaurant. I'll show you in this video. He also has autographed guitars, golf and Dallas Cowboy memorabilia all around. It's a cool offthebeatinpath restaurant & it has the best fajita chicken nachos, beerritas & swirls you'll ever get!

Fish Creek Linear Park
And lastly for those of you who like to ride or hike, here's one of the two parks I really like because of its length for cyclists and canopy of trees. It's Fish Creek Linear Park in Arlington. The other park I really like is River Legacy Park which is similar to this park but bigger.
