As many of my subscribers know, this is a clip from my 6 part PBS documentary series, making sense of the 60s. I loved talking with experts and authors and parents who raise kids at the time where I was a kid. I learned a lot. Most of this section is about the experience that parents had in white middleclass America. Another section of my documentary deals with the experience that black parents and black kids had.

A quote from Hesiod, 8th Century BC “I see no hope for the future of our people if they are dependent on frivolous youth of today, for certainly all youth are reckless beyond words. When I was young, we were taught to be discreet and respectful of elders, but the present youth are exceedingly disrespectful and impatient of restraint"
