Houston city controller to give update on $650M firefighters union settlement

The settlement includes raises and back pay going back to 2017. Last month, Controller Chris Hollins said the deal will mean cutting other areas to deal with a budget deficit of at least $230 million. Proposals include a new garbage fee and asking voters to approve a property tax increase.
