When World Horse Welfare Field Officer Seema Ritson arrived on site at the request of the RSPCA, she quickly realized that there was more than met the eye.

Working with the RSPCA, she went on to discover 40 horses hidden away behind boarded up stables and mounds of slurry.

The owner was prosecuted under the Animal Welfare Act and given a lifetime ban on keeping any equine.

But the story doesn't end there. This discovery eventually led to the rescue of 5 more horses at another nearby location that Seema had been keeping an eye on for a while.

Watch on to learn more about the efforts that led to this incredible rescue.
