#SCMPFilm: Perhaps no story better represents the vicious cycle of poverty in rural China than that of 16yearold Chen Zhenzhen. Chen gave up her education at the age of 12, after her family could no longer afford her school fees, and became a migrant worker to help support her younger siblings. Realising that without an education, Chen says she has no way out of a future bound to doing manual labour.
