Hood Strut Lift Mod

Did our video help you? If so, consider buying us a beer: https://bit.ly/3feE6tJ

In this video we show you a modification you can do to your 3rd Gen Toyota 4runner. Normally when you lift your hood, you have to use the OEM prop rod to hold the hood up for you. This modification adds a couple gas struts under the hood to do the lifting for you and it also lifts the hood higher than normal so you'll have an easier time checking your fluid levels or working on your engine.

Even thought this modification was done on a 3rd Gen 4runner, you could probably make it work with other make and model vehicles as well. You would just need to do some research to get the right length and strength struts for your application and then figure out the hardware necessary to affix the strut to the hood and affix the strut in the engine compartment.
