It is now known that a new technical standard for MotoGP will take effect in 2027 and cause the bikes to differ significantly. Though there are some leaks, there are no formal specifics concerning the procedure or what the future regulations would contain.
A certain issue in the conversations is dividing manufacturers greatly. This has to do with freezing development, or restricting or stopping the motorcycles' advancement beyond a specific point.
Since the tentative agreement for the new restrictions requires a halt to the bike's development in the two years prior, 2025 and 2026 will already see a similar predicament. Not everyone is happy about this, though.
