Gabriel is a former gang member with two strikes. A third strike will put him in jail for life. Through Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles, he and other atrisk youth have found jobs and support as they build a new life for themselves and their families.

Jim McSherry's debut film, Homeboy, chronicles three former East LA gang members whose lives have always been entrenched in that culture as they share their dignity in the struggle to leave their violent lives behind through the triumph of the human spirit. The film not only provides insight into a growing problem across the United States, as well as the world, but the opportunity to understand. McSherry hopes viewers who understand can then help change.
