The standard Home Assistant database, based on SQLite sometimes gets corrupt, slow and sluggish the larger it gets so I recommend switching the default Home Assistant database to MariaDB which we cover how to install in this video. Then after laying the foundations of our new database, we install the system monitor integration which allows us to keep an eye on our Home Assistant CPU, Memory, Disk space and networking bandwidth allowing us to create cards and automations based on the monitoring data.
