The HMS Queen Elizabeth, flagship aircraft carrier and first in its class for the Royal Navy, returns to Portsmouth after taking on ammunition at Glen Mellan in Scotland.

The British warship lives at His Majesty's Naval Base Portsmouth and was only away for a few weeks in UK waters. This was to take on ammunition, train and prepare for their next big Carrier Strike Group deployment.

Due to the high risk associated with the ship, the harbour is closed to marine traffic and several police boats provide escort from the Ministry of Defence Police. Aircraft often join the carrier while out at sea, but not in port.
