On April 16, 1945, the Red Army begins the attack on Berlin. Its generals accept heavy losses. In the west, the British and Americans liberated the first concentration camps of the second World War.

They find piles of corpses and emaciated prisoners. Hundreds of thousands of Wehrmacht soldiers surrender. Churchill does not want to leave Berlin to Stalin, but Eisenhower decides against it. He feared that German units might entrench themselves in the Alps. Hitler has finally realized that the war the Second World War is lost. Only Goebbels remains in the Führerbunker with his family. Hitler commits suicide with his wife Eva Braun on April 30. The Goebbels family did not survive the downfall either. It is up to the executors around Grand Admiral Dönitz to declare unconditional surrender. The Second World War in Europe ends on May 8.
