A friend just got a TS3 by Trailer Saver and is having a couple of hiccups with hitching and unhitching it. Knowing I’ve had mine for 2 years, he had a couple of questions. In the course of the written response, it seemed like a video showing our process would help.

A couple of points for unhitching, the hitch can get bound up if my last move was pulling forward. If forward was our last move, we either over do it and back up (preferred) or will put the landing gear down and put the truck in reverse to take the pressure off the king pin.

As well, if the hitch doesn’t want to let the bar move to open, make sure you don’t have pressure on the coupler. And make sure you aren’t actually lifting the hitch with the camper. We have completely overshot our height before.

Another video that I mention in this one is my “predeparture walk around.” We do this after hitching and before pulling out every time. And I’ll do the same after a stop.
