The Himalayan cat (a.k.a. Himalayan Persian cat, or Colourpoint Persian cat as it is commonly referred to in Europe) is a breed or subbreed of longhaired cat similar in type to the Persian cat, with the exception of its blue eyes and its point colouration which were derived from crossing the Persian with the Siamese.

Himalayan cats are gentle, calm, and sweettempered, and possess a playful side as well.

Himalayan cats are devoted and dependent upon their humans for companionship and protection.
