As we driving back from one metal detecting spot, Doug happened to see this old house tucked backed off the road. It was clearly built in at least the mid 1800s but with no research done this was simply a stop on a whim. After talking to the homeowner and getting permission, we found that the house was built actually 100 years earlier than we guessed, way back around the early 1700s and she owned acres and acres of land surrounding it. Now most of this land is planted with hay, including the spot where the original homestead was, but there is enough room around the big house to keep us busy for an impromptu hunt!
