A client recently booked an appointment with us for this reason: "I received an alert for my thermostat stating that my heat pump is not working and that I am running on auxiliary heat."
Today I ask Ramon (HVAC Technician for 41 years), what it means when you receive a notification on your thermostat that you are running auxiliary heat. You will receive this notification when there is a problem with your heat pump, but since you are still getting heat (from your auxiliary source), you may not realize your heat pump has a malfunction.
