We had such a blast canyoneering down the Matutinao River to the famous Kawasan Falls! It really was so much fun...and beautiful! We loved it.

We woke up early (around 3:30) to drive near Moalboal where the Kawasan Falls is located. The drive was beautiful as we went up and over the mountains in the middle of Cebu and as we were near the coast. It was a rough and bumpy drive, which made Jake throw up. Thankfully he was just carsick.

When we finally arrived and got our gear on, we were off on motorcycles driving up the mountain. The lush mountains with the ocean in the distance were absolutely breathtaking. After our orientation, we hiked down the mountain to the Matutinao River Canyon. We were amazed at the color of the water. It was such a pretty aqua blue with a milky look to it. We started the fun on our adventures right away as we jumped off the cliff, slid down another, and even slid backward down a small waterfall. One of the highlights of this first part of the Canyoneering was jumping off a cliff that was seven meters high. We got to jump off a couple of times and even saw our guides do some cool flips as they jumped off. It was awesome and a perfect way to start our canyoneering adventures.
