Recommended Jack Stands to use when your life depends on it, ALWAYS use a jack stand with double locking, meaning it has a thick pin rod that slides through the ratchet bar:

This was started under NHTSA Campaign Number: 20E027000, on May 3, 2020, under NHTSA Recall No
20E02. this recall was triggered by a jack stand failure from a customer.

The original recall affects several Pittsburgh Automotive Model 3 Ton Heavy Duty Steel Jack Stands:
1) Harbor Freight Tools Part No. 56371, 3 Ton Heavy Duty Steel Jack Stands
2) Harbor Freight Tools Part No. 61196, 3 Ton Heavy Duty Steel Jack Stands
3) Harbor Freight Tools Part No. 61197, 6 Ton Heavy Duty Steel Jack Stands

Now after further testing Harbor freight recalled this jack stand below which was meant to replace the above 3 ton jack stands from the May 3, 2020 recall:

In this second Pittsburgh jack stand recall, Harbor Freight Tools is allowing any customer who bought any 3 ton or 6 ton jackstand model on the list even if it's not being recalled, to return it for a refund if they don't feel safe with their jack stand.
