In this Quick Tip Episode we'll learn how to use the old school transfer wax technique to move an image from one engraved master plate to another practice plate. The castings used in this video to demonstrate the technique can be used by the beginner and intermediate engraver to transfer a set of clean backbones or scroll outline to another plate for practicing cutting both backbones and shading. Hand engraving starts with knowing how to draw clean scrolls. This set will give the beginner a feel for what a clean scroll backbone looks like. Along with an example of simple, well balanced scroll design.
