One day, my female hamster suddenly got sick. She held her stomach with her hand and was in pain.
So I took her to the animal hospital. To a hospital handling hamsters.
And my hamster had an abdominal ultrasound examination at the hospital.
An ultrasound scan was able to find out that her uterus was inflamed.
Hysteritis is a common disease in female hamsters and can die if not operated quickly.
However, surgery is also very dangerous, so hamster may die from the aftereffects. If the hamster is old or weak.
So I decided to treat my hamster with painkillers and antibiotics.
(Antibiotics are used in minimal doses.) Fortunately, the medicine worked well.
After her visit to the hospital, she took medicine for a total of 9 months. Now her age is 2 years and 4 months.
(Dwarf hamsters living 2 years and 4 months means that they lived a long time.)
For reference I used 2000 dollars. (The hamster's drug price.) For nine months.
