Tests to find out why your cat's hair is falling out include hair plucks, tape preps, skin scrapes, blood tests, biopsy, and even diet trials. The problem with all this is that the results are not always clear cut, and when it comes to diet trials to test for food allergy as well as other treatment trials, the results can take a long time to become apparent.
