Recently, the Human Performance and Health Research Lab at the University of Guelph published a study examining the cardiovascular effects of habitual cannabis use. The study examined arterial stiffness, vascular endothelial function, and cardiac function in cannabis users and nonusers.

They found that cannabis users had greater arterial stiffness and altered cardiac mechanics compared to nonusers. These findings suggest that cannabis users may be at greater risk for the future development of cardiovascular disease.
