This Sunday's video is the conclusion to one I've already shown some of the process for. I'm doing a few more new clay tests from the bodies Potclays kindly sent to me. I'm blending the more textured stonewares down with my usual clay and incorporating a few big pinches of iron spangles, made from hammering iron, which should create some rather dramatic speckles on the surfaces of the vases. I'll show you how I mix and wedge the clays, incorporate the iron and then I'll demonstrate how I throw and trim these two vases, bisque fire them, glaze them and finally how they're reduction fired to 1290ºC.
Thanks for watching!
