Todays Ride Grizedale Forest in the Lake District The North Face Trail!

On the 11/6/19 i took a trip to Lake District for a day of fun on the bikes.
Joining me was Callum (@tall_riderr) and Phil (@Phil_h_87)
That week there had been torrential rain over most of the UK which threatened to ruin our planned ride.
We woke up early and checked the weather boom, clear skys at Grizedale Forest!
with the bikes loaded in the car we set sail for the Lakes. Id never been to Grizedale before and i don't think Callum or Phil had either so it was defiantly a new place to try and tick off the list.

With the bikes set up we headed out to locate the start of the "North Face" Trail. Once on the trail it was a mix of steady climbs on rocky single track and fire roads.
I had done a little research on the place and a lot of people had said that it can be quite peddley over all with i can agree with. The descents were rocky and fun but ultimately in my opinion not worth the amount of uphills there were. granted with all that climbing you are rewarded with a few good views over the Lake District but unless you are local to the area i would suggest you ride somewhere els.

After we had completed the loop we went round and did the first climb again as just before the start of the "North Face" there is a black jump line which was fun and well worth the push up.
I believe there is a great network of off piste trails in the area that are with checking out, however we just didn't have the time.

all in all it was a good day out with the weather holding out nicely and no major incidents apart from Phils chain snapping (Luckily he had a spare)
