Made by Thomas Middleton in London, England. Circa 18501860. Engine originally installed at Anscombs Mill in the UK. Purchased by Henry Ford for the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan in 1932. On display there from 1933 until 1990. Sold at auction at that time to a collector in Texas. Annular compound engine with high pressure cylinder inside the larger low pressure cylinder. Flywheel diameter is 8 1/2 feet. Running on 40 PSI steam.
