If your chute is jammed, you only need to remove a few screws to fix it. This video shows what to do.

UPDATE: This happened again to my snow thrower a second time. This time I repaired it but did NOT reinstall the chute turning shaft. Now I turn the chute itself. It shouldn't happen again, I hope.

I had to remove a plastic piece from the extension in the screwdriver set so it would fit in the hole in the snow thrower. Good luck!
