We have a new closed pine wood double quarter staircase with a spacious stair closet underneath.

On the staircase we put cap a treads. With capatreads you can also renovate your stairs. By default, the stairs are white. We glued oak treads on the steps. We also installed oak risers. You can do a lot yourself if you want a complete stair renovation.

There are many types of stairs, but not every house can accommodate a straight staircase or a staircase with a turn, for example. We had an open staircase and now have a closed staircase so we could build a stair closet under the stairs.

How expensive a new staircase is also depends on whether you do the assembly yourself, installation by a craftswoman or a craftsman or excluding assembly. It also depends on whether you want stair cladding, primed or unprimed, finishing with paint, antislip strips, lighting or cap a treads.

A straight pine open staircase is the cheapest model. If you choose a staircase with a turn, a bottom quarter or a top quarter, you will be a bit more expensive.
