Sky News Australia political editor Andrew Clennell says the government and the Treasurer are “up and about” after believing they’ve played a “political blinder”.
The Treasurer has said the federal budget will mean a faster decline in inflation, forecasting a 2.75 per cent inflation for the 202425 year.
“They say it reduces it. I’m not so sure.
“That gives people money to spend elsewhere in the economy. It might get rid of the electricity price figure. I just don’t believe the 2.75 per cent prediction.
“I’m happy to be proved wrong at the end of the year.”
