There sure is a lot of talk about which is faster, Goosebox or Kingpin...I've had a lot of viewers ask for this comparison, so here it is. In this video I'll compare side by side the Goosebox and Kingpin in split frames so you can see exactly how fast each method is. You'll see both options are relatively fast methods to hitch up a fifth wheel. I think it's really a personal decision among other factors, but you've got to ask yourself the question, "Will it make a difference if the Goosebox or Kingpin takes 30, 60, or 90 seconds longer?" And secondly, as one previous viewer aptly pointed out, "Should we be in a rush in the first place while hitchingup our giant, heavy fifth wheels?"

Disclaimer: I've towed more with the Reese Goosebox than I have a traditional king pin. The weight and size of a conventional fifth wheel hitch is what drove me to the Reese Goose Box in the first place, as I absolutely dreaded installing and removing my 200+ pound B&W Companion hitch each time I was going camping. But, recently I sold my fifth wheel that had the Goosebox mounted to it and purchased another fifth wheel, so I decided to give the conventional fifth wheel hitch and king pin another shot. So the two test runs featured in this video were recorded several months apart, but I still tried to keep all factors as equal as possible between the two scenarios to make it as realistic as possible. In hindsight I could have chosen a better camera angle, so apologies for the blurred shots with the tailights in the foreground and the pinboxes slightly blurred in the background.
