Queensland Go Cards could soon be a thing of the past.
Debit and credit cards and smart devices will be able to be used on some of the state's railway network in a new trial starting next week.
Travellers on Brisbane's Ferny Grove line will be able to use their Visa, Mastercard or American Express debit and credit cards, phone or watch.
The $371 million system was first trialled on the Gold Coast's GLink service earlier this year and was hailed a success.
The trial mirrors other states as New South Wales rolled out debit card payments on its public transport network in 2019.
