The next in my short series of the Pathfinder cruising dinghy build this is what I was actually trying to do during my recent 'rainy day' video but it was impossible to hear me because of the rain on the roof.
In this video iv'e tried to cover several of the questions I have been asked about the cuddy it's design and construction and so on because it''s outside John Welsford's normal plans but is somewhat based on his cuddy designs for his SCAMP and Long Steps designs.
I hope that the short sequence of still photographs at the start shows the basic shape and structure in this series I haven't shown any of the experiments I did with different shapes ; this one is the simplest and I think most effective.
I think that the problem and compromise with this kind of shelter is the height I tried it higher but it then looked like a shed !. I did also try longer versions with it completely covering the well but once again it didn't look right.
The continued development of the cuddy will include making custom stowage bags and a custom soft shelter/sprayhood addition which will partially cover the middle of the boat as well.
In the next video, when I get around to more filming, will be a look at the middle of the boat with it's off center 'centerboard', the large lockers to port and the stowage under the board compartments.

In terms of filming, making and editing video this was a slightly more serious attempt on my part to make a competent 'talky' kind of video segment without just being a 'talking head'.

One ongoing problem I have is that of recording sound clips without film I can do that via my desk Mac and the video editing software but I can't wear headphones or have the speaker on because it gives me a half second delay so I hear my own voice after I have spoken and it totally puts me off my stride.
