This tournament happened the week after the Bassmaster Open had their tournament there. This was the second year in a row that I fished a BFL in mid May at Kerr Lake or Buggs Island and came home with a 4th place trophy. The two tournaments fished very different for me, this tournament I was able to focus mainly offshore after a slow morning bite fishing up shallow. There were shad spawning all over the lake and capitalizing on that proved to be more difficult than I anticipated. A few key adjustments allowed me to fill my limit and upgrade throughout the day.
