The Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France performs the "Grand Choral" from the film "La Nuit Américaine" by François Truffaut, composed by Georges Delerue and conducted by Bruno Fontaine. Excerpt from the concert recorded live on 11 January from the Radio France Auditorium.
The programme of the concert from Tati to Godard closes with one of the most emblematic works of French cinematic music, dear to the recipient of the France Musique SACEM Honour Prize, Alexandre Desplat, the Grand Choral by composer Georges Delerue. Reinventing the music of JohannSebastien Bach, master of choral music, Delerue's music also contains subtle hints of Antonio Vivaldi's Concerto for two trumpets, adding to François Truffaut's La Nuit américaine a certain ceremonial character.
