Generation Birth Years: Where Do They Come From?

Follow
The Generations

Generation birth years vary depending on where you look. For some, this can cause some frustration. This video should help you understand why there is variation in birth years and maybe help inform you of your own perspective on generations.
I cover a few perspectives to illustrate the different ways people can look at generations. These perspectives include various theoretical views, the demographic phenomenon of Baby Boomers, how Pew decides on birth years, and an example of another generation writer's process. See the time stamps for different ideas covered.

Hope you enjoy and thanks for watching. Subscribe if you want to see more videos covering generational topics.

P.S. This Census Bureau report does mention Xers and there may be more, I just had a hard time finding them as the search function on the website didn't bring anything up for other generations. The report also talks a little bit about their views on generations: https://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand...
