How to make the best gelatinous chicken broth! I call this a “hybrid” broth because it combines a lighter more flavorful meat stock with a nutrient rich bone broth for one amazing delicious and nutritious broth!
STOVETOP AND SLOW COOKER INSTRUCTIONS:
For Part 1 of the broth:
For the stovetop: Bring to a very gentle boil over medium heat, and simmer until the chicken is cooked through and tender, about 1½ hours. For the slow cooker: Cook on high until the chicken is cooked through and tender, 6 to 8 hours.
For Part 2 of the broth:
(Instant Pot or pressure cooker is greatly preferred for this part.) For the slow cooker: Cook on high for 12 to 36 hours, adding more water as necessary to keep the ingredients submerged. For the stovetop: Bring to a very gentle boil over medium heat, and simmer for 12 to 36 hours, adding more water as necessary to keep the ingredients submerged. Use a slotted spoon to remove any scum that floats to the top.
