In this video we explain in easy to follow stepbystep instructions how to override the gear selector, allowing us to move the gear out of the park position while the engine is not running.
Make sure to have the parking brake engaged and have a foot on the break pedal, preventing the vehicle from moving unintentionally.
First remove the bezel by puling on the gear selector boot, at the bottom and the top end. Once removed, we are able to locate the small red lever in the lower right corner. Firmly press down the lever, e.g. by using a screwdriver. Now we can move the gear selector out of park. Once moved back into the park position the selector will again be locked.
