In this episode of Repair and Replace, Vance shows how to replace the flame sensor in a gas furnace. The flame sensor monitors the burner. If no flame is detected after 7 seconds, then the gas is shut off. If the flame sensor fails or is dirty, then the furnace might cycle on and off, and will not function properly.
