Moved indoors due to the weather, The Cleanup nonetheless offering up a storybook ending as the final workout of the 2023 Rogue Invitational. Arguably the most anticipated part of this year's competition was the return of the friendly rivalry between 3x Invitational champ Tia ToomeyOrr and 2022 champ Laura Horvath. To say that matchup didn't disappoint would be an understatement, as the two phenomenal athletes entered Event 9 in a dead heat, tied at 680 points overall atop the leaderboard. It would come down to a battle of doubleups and cleans, an endurance test after a long weekend, to determine a winner. Meanwhile, while Pat Vellner seemed to have his first Invitational title in hand, reigning "Fittest Man on Earth" Jeff Adler was ready to make one last run at his fellow Canadian.
