Join Claire Webster on April 7th at noon for the next McGill Cares webcast to support informal caregivers. During candid, 30minute interviews with leading experts, Claire Webster explores topics related to caring for a loved one with dementia.

Claire is a Certified Alzheimer Care Consultant as well as the Program Founder, Ambassador & Lecturer for the McGill Dementia Education Program.

Dr. Simon Ducharme is a neuropsychiatrist and a clinicianscientist at the Douglas Mental Health University Institute and The Neuro (Montreal Neurological InstituteHospital). He specializes in frontotemporal dementia (FTD) and the interface between psychiatric disorders and dementia. His research program uses advanced neuroimaging techniques to develop diagnostic biomarkers for FTD. Dr. Ducharme is the Director of the McGill Division of Geriatric Psychiatry & Neuropsychiatry and the Director of the American Neuropsychiatric Association Committee on Research.

Dr. Ducharme will speak about FTD and how it differs from other forms of dementia. He will address the types of behavioral changes caused by FTD, how they may evolve as the disease progresses, and ways of dealing with these types of changes.
